The Conspirator: A Political Thriller

Running Time: 123 min.

To be honest I wasn't expecting much from The Conspirator. If anything I originally thought it was basically gonna be JFK set in the 1860's, but to be honest It was actually a very entertaining movie. The film stars James McAvoy as an upstart lawyer who has just returned from the Civil War and while attending a party finds out that President Lincoln was assasinated. Now he must represent a woman who is believed to have housed John Wilkes Booth while he was planning the assasination. Now all I have to say is that James McAvoy stole the show. Everytime he enters the courtroom there is always a sense of tension in the air. Robin Wright plays the accused Mary Sarott and she was top-notch. The only sad thing is that this a very hard film to find. So If you can't it in theaters, definetely look for it on DVD.
