Countdown to the Oscars Part 3: The Fighter

Running Time: 115 min.

Now when I said The King's Speech was inspirational, I didn't that it doesn't hold a candle to The Fighter (when it comes to inspiring people). This movie stars Mark Wahlberg as former middleweight boxing champ Mickey Ward and how he became his own man and became the success he was. Now Mark Wahlberg did great, but everyone including Wahlberg had to bowdown to Christian Bale (who played Dick Eckland). Bale absolutely shines as this broken and rotten looking scum of the earth crack head and he deserves the supporting actor oscar  (HINT HINT ACADEMY!!!!). Not to mention Melissa Leo who played Mickey's mom shined as the neglectful and controling mother and Amy Adams did great as Wahlbergs love intrest. Overall, This is a very solid movie and I think The King's Speech has some competiton for that Oscar. Tune in tomorrow to see the review to the movie that made us all cry. Toy Story 3. Later.

Rating: 5/5
