Running Time: 123 min.
To be honest I wasn't expecting much from The Conspirator. If anything I originally thought it was basically gonna be JFK set in the 1860's, but to be honest It was actually a very entertaining movie. The film stars James McAvoy as an upstart lawyer who has just returned from the Civil War and while attending a party finds out that President Lincoln was assasinated. Now he must represent a woman who is believed to have housed John Wilkes Booth while he was planning the assasination. Now all I have to say is that James McAvoy stole the show. Everytime he enters the courtroom there is always a sense of tension in the air. Robin Wright plays the accused Mary Sarott and she was top-notch. The only sad thing is that this a very hard film to find. So If you can't it in theaters, definetely look for it on DVD.

Countdown to the Oscars Part 5: INCEPTION
Running time: 148 min.
(*WOMP*) You hear that noise alot in this movie. Inception is possible one of the most complex movies to talk about. The story follows a man named Cobb (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) as he and an elite group of people who extract ideas and thoughts from people while they dream. Now they are hired by a man named Saito (played by Ken Watanabe) to actually implant an idea into a mans mind, which has never happened before. Now everyone in this movie did indeed perform very well, but all the props for this movie has to go to Chris Nolan. His vision comes to life in a way so spectacular, I haven't seen such vision since James Cameron introduced us to the Navi. The only problem is that you might be confused with the ending the first time around. Overall this film is truly a fantastic time to be enjoyed by all. So ends my countdown to the Oscars. Until next time. Good Night

Countdown to the Oscars Part 4: Toy Story 3
This movie hits home. I say this because I and everyone else who grew up in the 90's and 2000's have probably grown up with Toy Story. Toy Story 3 is about Woody, Buzz, and all the other toys you love and how they are sent to Sunnyside Daycare when their owner Andy has grown up and is heading for college. Now all I hagve to say that this is the ultimate family movie and it's a fantastic movie overall. This movie could be the unexepected smash hit with the Academy. I mean this movie just touched the hearts of all the people who watched it. I cried during this movie :(. It was a manly cry(DON'T YOU JUDGE ME!!!) and when I think about it this movie made everyone shed a tear. So if you grew up with this movie or want your kids to see an instant classic, I plead to you to watch it. This is one of the greater films of 2010. Tune in tomorrow as we delve into the subconscious with part 5: INCEPTION (*WOMP*).

Countdown to the Oscars Part 3: The Fighter
Running Time: 115 min.
Now when I said The King's Speech was inspirational, I didn't that it doesn't hold a candle to The Fighter (when it comes to inspiring people). This movie stars Mark Wahlberg as former middleweight boxing champ Mickey Ward and how he became his own man and became the success he was. Now Mark Wahlberg did great, but everyone including Wahlberg had to bowdown to Christian Bale (who played Dick Eckland). Bale absolutely shines as this broken and rotten looking scum of the earth crack head and he deserves the supporting actor oscar (HINT HINT ACADEMY!!!!). Not to mention Melissa Leo who played Mickey's mom shined as the neglectful and controling mother and Amy Adams did great as Wahlbergs love intrest. Overall, This is a very solid movie and I think The King's Speech has some competiton for that Oscar. Tune in tomorrow to see the review to the movie that made us all cry. Toy Story 3. Later.

Countdown to the Oscars Part 2: The King's Speech
Running Time: 118 min.
The Kings Speech is possibly the most beautifully done movies of not only this year (released in 2010 though), but of all time. It tells the story of King George VI (played by Colin Firth) and of how he conquered his stammering problem with the help of Lionel Logue (played by Geoffrey Rush) and his wife Queen Elizabeth (played by Helena Bonham Carter). Now all I have to say that this movie was nearly perfect. Colin Firth out acts everyone in this movie. When you watch him on screen he appears as this poor troubled soul just looking for help and is a loving husband and father who does this to be closer to his children. .He sells to an amazing degree and I honestly couldn't tell that he learned how to stammer to portray the role. Even though Firth out acted everyone, he still had some major competition. Specifically, with co-star Geoffrey Rush as Lionel Logue. He is indeed the closest friend that Colin Firth had. My only extremely minor complaint was that we didn't get to see more of Geoffrey Rush's family and I found that kind of strange. By far this is one of the greatest movies of last year and I'd be suprised if Colin Firth didn't win the Oscar. Tune in tomorrow for my review of...The Fighter.

Countdown to the Oscars Part 1: The Social Network
Running Time: 120 min.
Okay The Social Network. If you haven't heard about this movie or of Facebook you probably haven't used a computer since 2006. The movie follows Mark Zuckerburg's (Jesse Eisenburg) rise to fame and how he clawed to the top as the youngest billionare in the world. Now I usually am someone who doesn't pick apart movies, but there was just something off about this movie. I thought it was an intresting story, but my main problem is Mark Zuckerburg himself. It's just that Zuckerburg is portrayed as this Gordon Gekko-esque character, but I feel like he's just a complete jerk. In my opinion, the guys who stole the show were Andrew Garfield (who portrayed Eduardo Saverin) and Justin Timberlake (who portrayed napster founder Sean Parker). Garfield makes me feel so sympathetic for him. In my opinion this felt like it should have been the story of Eduardo Saverin. Also Justin Timberlake shines in this movie and I would love to see him in more movies as long as he gives amazing performances like this. My other big problem is that there are multiple stories, which is fine, but they feel so spread apart and out of place. I do indeed enjoy Aaron Sorkin's work (THE GUY MADE THE WEST WING!!!), but this whole movie just seems a little off. So I have to say that this is probably one of the weakest nominees. If you still want to see this movie, I recommend just renting something like Wall Street. Tune in tomorrow when I review The King's Speech for Part 2 of the countdown to the Oscars.
